She is also a Professor of Medicine at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin health network, specialising in haematology and medical oncology. She has an interest in hematopoietic cell donors, both in terms of their experience and in terms of determining factors which help to select the best donor for an individual patient. She also has an interest in health-related quality of life and survivorship issues in patients who undergo hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT).
