Speaker | Chair About Maddie Gilsenan
Maddie plays an integral role in the care of patients undergoing CAR T cell therapy, and haematopoietic stem cell transplant, with a focus on the early period post-discharge, through her nurse practitioner led outpatient clinic. She played a central role in the implementation of the first Australian paediatric CAR T cell therapy program, at RCH Melbourne. She also has a special interest in patients with aplastic anaemia undergoing immunosuppression therapy, and bone marrow failure.
In addition to clinical care, Maddie has had a longstanding involvement in clinical research. She was BMT Research Nurse Coordinator on the pivotal ELIANA trial of CAR T cell therapy and Harmony study of defibrotide prophylaxis in HSCT, from 2016-2019.
