Call for Abstracts for ANZTCT ASM 2026 are now open!

The ANZTCT ASM Scientific Committee is pleased to invite presenters to submit abstracts for oral presentations and/or poster presentations, to be delivered at the ASM in August 2026 in Melbourne.

Please note, with less than 1000 attendees, presentations at this meeting will not preclude the same presentations at international meetings, like the American Society of Hematology.

Prizes are also available. Please select the option for consideration for abstract achievement awards when completing your submission.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions must be written in English.
  • Online submission is the only method of abstract submission.
  • Abstracts submitted for presentation will be published exactly as received and should be checked for spelling and grammar prior to submission.
  • It is the responsibility of the presenter / author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in the template format provided.
  • Where there is more than one presenter all correspondence will be sent to the person who submitted the abstract.
  • Every effort will be made to accommodate the presenter / author presentation preference however the Scientific Committee reserves the right to allocate the presentation to best suit the program.
  • The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the ASM. Similarly, no presenter fee is paid to successful presenters.

Abstract Themes

During submission, you will nominate a theme most relevant for your submission. Your abstract will be reviewed in your nominated category; however, the Organisers reserve the right to move abstracts to different themes to best suit the program.

  • TCT service development and quality e.g.: resource planning, quality management, data management, audits or accreditation

Policies & Requirements

  • Abstracts must contain original work that has no prior ownership or copyright restrictions.
  • Abstracts that do not contain sufficient information will be rejected.
  • All abstracts must be prepared according to the guidelines provided. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will be returned to the author and must be re-submitted in the correct format to be considered for inclusion in the program.
  • If the abstract is selected, consent is provided for the presentation slides (for oral presenters); video; audio recording and photos taken during the oral presentation/poster presentation to be used and published by ANZTCT ASM 2026 including being provided to delegates of ANZTCT ASM 2026.
  • Submission of your abstract/s implies you have read, understood and comply with the Terms and Conditions as outlined on this website.
  • Abstracts must be submitted by the presenting author who should complete all fields on the online submission form.
  • The person submitting the information must be one of the presenters.
  • The person submitting the abstract should be the nominated main contact of your abstract. All correspondence relating to the submission will be directed to this person, and they should in turn distribute to any other co-presenters.
  • If you are submitting more than one abstract a separate submission must be made for each one.
  • Presenting authors must register to attend the conference.

Abstract Format

Your abstract must be prepared using this Abstract Submission Form.

  • Tables and images can be included in the abstract – uploaded via Dropbox (per the submission form) – or alternatively, you can send via email to info@anztct.org.au
  • Please only use standard abbreviations or define them in full.
  • Please limit your abstract to 300 words (excluding titles and references)
  • Paragraphs should be separated by an empty line, please do not indent the first line of a paragraph

Please note:

  • Accuracy is the responsibility of the author; please ensure you have proofread your submission carefully.
  • Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the reproduction of symbols, accuracy of symbols cannot be guaranteed in the reproduction.

Abstract Title

Please write the title in sentence case (capitalising only the first word and proper nouns), do not use quotation marks.

Authors and Affiliations

Do not include the author’s names in the body of the abstracts as the abstracts are subject to a blind review process. The names of all participating authors (including yourself) will be entered into the abstract submission form. Please do not include degrees or professional titles.

Abstract Text

The Committee suggests that where applicable* the abstract should follow the format outlined below:

  • Background: Brief context outlining the clinical or scientific problem being addressed, its relevance to TCT, and the study’s rationale or hypothesis.
  • Methods: Clear description of study design, locale, population/sample, interventions, laboratory or statistical methods, and analytic approaches.
  • Results: Key findings with relevant data. Include numbers, effect sizes, confidence intervals, and significance where appropriate.
  • Conclusions: Concise interpretation of the results, their significance for TCT practice, research, or policy, and implications for future work.

* Abstracts such as case studies, reviews or reports are welcomed and do not need to follow the heading as outlined above.

Conflict of Interest Statement

If the research described in the abstract was supported by a commercial company, you must indicate the company’s role in analysing the data or preparing the abstract. You will be asked to supply the following statement during the submission process:

  • “No conflict of interest to disclose”
  • “The author discloses the following conflict of interest (please specify): _____

This conflict-of-interest statement is mandatory for all abstracts submitted and where there is a conflict, this will appear wherever the abstracts are published. For abstracts accepted as an oral presentation, please ensure you include a slide disclosing the conflict of interest within your presentation.
