Heather Weerdenburg is a clinical pharmacist specialising in paediatric oncology and haematopoietic stem cell transplant at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. She began her career in the UK, where she worked across both adult and paediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant services, gaining valuable experience in high-acuity, multidisciplinary care. Since relocating to Australia, Heather has focused on improving outcomes for immunocompromised children. She is currently undertaking a PhD focused on antimicrobials and supportive care in this vulnerable population. Heather is passionate about quality improvement initiatives, clinical guideline development, and promoting staff wellbeing, as well as advocating for the meaningful integration of pharmacists’ expertise into clinical care and research.
