Dr Krystal Bergin is a clinical and laboratory haematologist. After completing her clinical haematology training at The Alfred, Dr Bergin undertook haematology laboratory training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre as well as a fellowship in leukaemia and bone marrow transplantation at the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver, Canada. She then returned to The Alfred to complete a further fellowship in myeloma. She has completed her PhD through Monash University investigating myeloma demographics, therapy and outcomes in the “real world” focusing on the Australian and New Zealand experience as well as novel therapies in relapsed/refractory myeloma through clinical trials. She is an investigator on a number of myeloma related clinical trials and has published her research in peer reviewed journals. Dr Bergin is a member of the Myeloma Research Group and a steering committee member of the Myeloma and Related Diseases Registry (MRDR) as well as a member of HSANZ, ALLG and EHA.
