Paolo Melgarejo is a machine learning engineer, lecturer at McGill University, co-host of Montreal Generative AI, and co-founder of Trialshub, an AI platform revolutionizing clinical trial recruitment, education, and operations. Trialshub is currently being piloted across leading academic hospitals in the United States and in partnership with the federal government of Canada. The platform enhances participant outreach, education, voice analytics, trial operations, and simulated call training to accelerate clinical research.

Previously, he worked on AI and healthcare infrastructure projects at Stanford Research International, focusing on real-world applications of machine learning. He also led innovation and technology at Matchbox x Endocrine Society, where he developed digital tools and engagement strategies for clinicians and researchers.

At McGill, Paolo teaches innovation and entrepreneurship, mentoring the next generation of startup founders and researchers. He is deeply committed to building culturally safe, AI-powered tools that reduce health inequities and improve recruitment outcomes, particularly in underserved communities.

His work sits at the intersection of recruitment, trial operations, and patient advocacy—reshaping how clinical research is conducted and scaled globally.
